Body Found in Reservoir During Search for Girl

A body has been discovered in Baitings Reservoir, West Yorkshire, during a search for a teenage girl reported to have fallen into the water. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 13:15 BST on Wednesday, and an underwater search team recovered the body on Thursday afternoon. While formal identification is pending, the girl’s family has been informed and is receiving support from specially trained officers.

West Yorkshire Police have stated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident. Detective Inspector Laura Hall expressed condolences to the family and friends, emphasizing that inquiries are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the girl’s death.

The search involved multiple crews from West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, as well as assistance from Greater Manchester’s Littleborough unit. The community has been left in shock, and local authorities continue to offer support during this difficult time.
