Top-Paying Jobs in Europe: See Where Your Country Ranks

Europe’s salary landscape in 2023 revealed stark contrasts, with Luxembourg leading the pack and Bulgaria at the bottom, according to Eurostat data.

Luxembourg emerged as the highest-paying EU country, offering an average annual full-time adjusted salary of €81,100, followed by Denmark at €67,600 and Ireland at €58,700. These figures highlight the economic disparities within the EU.

Conversely, Bulgaria reported the lowest average salary at €13,500, with Hungary and Greece also falling below €20,000. These figures underscore the economic challenges faced by certain EU member states.

The EU-wide average salary stood at €37,900, marking a 6.5% increase from the previous year. However, this average masks significant disparities, with only nine countries surpassing the EU average.

These figures raise questions about the factors contributing to such disparities and the implications for economic policy and social equity within the EU.
